Thanksgiving is a time when families and friends come together to cook, eat food, and spend quality time with each other. Thanksgiving is also a time to reflect on all of the things that you are thankful for. With this thought in mind, I am going to reflect on 5 things in my life that I am thankful for. I am going to specifically focus on the things that we often take for granted.Â
Â
The first thing that I am thankful for is unconditional love. The love that I have for my family and close friends is unconditional and I am blessed to have people that I can depend on. So many people do not have family and friends that they can depend on, which is why I’m extremely grateful for the ones I have.Â
Â
The second thing that I am thankful for is a place to call home. I am thankful that I have a family home to come back to every time I have a free weekend or holiday break from school. I always know, even when I’m at school, that home is only an hour and a half away!Â
Â
The third thing that I am thankful for is my health and strength. Getting up every day and going to school wouldn’t be possible if I didn’t have good health and strength. There are people now who are sick with no cure, or have a permanent illness, and you never know when it can happen to you or someone you love. This is why I’m so very thankful for my health and strength.Â
Â
The fourth thing that I am thankful for is the lessons I have learned throughout my life and specifically, this year. I have learned so much about myself and it has been the best experience. I have watched myself grow year after year after year, and I am thankful for my growth and deliverance. I am thankful for the things and people that I no longer put my energy into, because this has shaped me into the person I am today! I look forward to my continuous growth on this journey we call life because in God’s word it says, “The best is yet to come.”
Â
Last but certainly not least, I am thankful for my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ! He is with me always and forever! And just when I think he’s done enough, he continues to amaze me. Thank you for blessing me on days when I’m at my best and even on the days I’m not at my best. I thank and praise him for the many blessings he has bestowed on me! If he doesn’t do anything else, he has truly done enough.Â
Â
And for all of these things, I am forever thankful!Â
