Anne Nonnamaker ’16

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

One of the strongest girls I know, Anne Nonnamaker is always intense about what she does. Whether it’s classes, working out, or having fun, she always gives %110. On top of all that she does, she’s hilarious. Read more about her here!

1) Tell us about yourself! What do you do on campus?

I am an OEB major, I’m in Navy ROTC, I’m Vice President of Recruitment for Alpha Phi, I’m in the Ski Club, and I work at the Queens Head Pub running trivia nights.

2) Why did you choose to do ROTC? Why Navy?

I wanted to do something cool with my life. But seriously, I’m not from a military family but I knew I wanted to serve, just didn’t know which branch I wanted. The Navy was the most helpful and supportive, and I like the career options better. I gave my parents the choice between me attending Harvard with NROTC and attending West Point, and they wanted me to go to Harvard. I love it and I know I made the right decision.

3) What’s something on your Harvard Bucket List?

I got to stand on and hold down the John Harvard Statue at Housing Day for Kirkland so that was really exciting. I want to accomplish the typical Harvard undergraduate bucket list before I graduate. I’ve got one down, working on the rest.

4) What are you doing for Spring Break?

I’m going to Lisbon, Portugal with six other Alpha Phis to explore the city and hopefully get tan.

Have fun, Anne!

Elizabeth is a junior at Harvard, concentrating in comparative religion. She loves to dance, run, and write, and loves working for Her Campus!
