This past week the Haverford College Economics Department spotlighted a guest speaker, Alejandro Drexler. Drexler is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Finance at The University of Texas at Austin. Alejandro Drexler has an extensive education history, earning his Engineers degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Universidad de Chile, as well as PhD in Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Born in Chile, Drexler worked as an Economist at Ministerio de Economía de Chile, and a Consultant at The World Bank and The Central Bank of Chile. In his address Monday night, Drexler reviewed his work in Financial Incentives and Loan Officer Behavior, which he authored alongside colleagues Patrick Behr, Reint Gropp, and Andre Guettler. Drexler also joined Economics students for an informal dinner discussion following his talk as well as an open lunch to further discuss topics of financial and economic interest. Thank you for your visit Alejandro! The Haverford community truly appreciated your visit!
