It’s Spooky Season and you know exactly what that means! For those of you in relationships (and honestly, even for those of you who aren’t), I’ll be listing 5 trends that took place over time and recently that I took an interest in and plan to do with my significant other. These trends can be used with friends or other loved ones as well!
Ghosts
This trend was incredibly popular last year, but it’s starting to come up again in 2022! All that is needed for this trend are bed sheets with holes for your eyes, a spooky location, and your phone! Some people add sunglasses to the bed sheet to add a little pizazz to the photo shoot, but that isn’t necessary if you don’t want to or don’t have sunglasses.
This is especially adorable with people such as your significant other, your friend group, or even your pet! Remember that this trend is usually posted on Tik Tok with the song Oh Klahoma by Jack Stauber. Have some fun with this and think outside of the box while taking pictures.
Pumpkin Heads
I have only seen this trend come up this year, but I do know that this was a thing back when Tumblr was around. For this trend, all you really need is pumpkins, a pumpkin carving kit, a spooky location, your phone, and matching outfits with your partner or your besties. This trend doubles up as a way to bond with your loved ones and also take cute photos afterward! It’s a win-win.Â
First, you’d have to pick out pumpkins, carve them out, measure the pumpkin to fit your head, and then find matching outfits with your people, and take photos! Just keep in mind that pumpkins are heavy. So, try to lessen the weight by removing the husk of the pumpkin all around the inside. You could even use the pumpkin filling for pumpkin pie!Â
SCREAM Masks
This one is incredibly simple as well. All you’d have to do is buy some SCREAM masks and dress up in all black with your partner or friend, and take pictures at a spooky location!
The Purge
I personally did this with my friend group in high school and the pictures were so fun! For this one, you could find inspiration from any of The Purge movies and base the photoshoot, outfits, and masks (if you make one) on that theme. The Purge movie I based my costume on was The Purge: Anarchy, and I made my own mask for less than $10. I bought a white face mask and used real makeup to recreate the mask I wanted. I was very proud of it, and it looked similar to the mask used in the movie!Â
Have your friends or partner choose a villain within the movies and have them recreate that character. Channel your inner villain and take pictures in a location that seems right to your costumes!
(For the Besties) WitchyÂ
This one is so cute for the besties. Have your besties find outfits that give off witchy vibes, grab some candles, find a field, and take some pictures! People usually dress in black for this and vary their outfits from there, but the vibe should give off witches completing a seance. Very cute!
