3 + 1 Reasons You Should Vote in the HYY Representative Council Elections

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Helsinki chapter.

The Representative Council elections for our student union HYY are upon us once again! This election might not seem as full of excitement and drama as Clinton vs Trump in the US, but here are some reasons you should vote anyway.

1. You can do it online.

That’s right! For the first time ever, voting is conducted electronically which means you can cast your important vote in the comfort of your own bed, or wherever else you like. No excuses!

2. It’s a good way to directly impact the kind of decisions HYY will be making.

And considering that HYY owns the spaces we party in and the cafeterias where we eat, as well as working with the University on a number of issues, you’ll really want to have your say in who gets elected.

3. There’s a cool quiz you can take to find the right candidate for you.

You can find it at hyy.helsinki.fi/vaalikone.

+ You get a free coffee from Unicafe when you vote!

There’s only one thing that’s better than coffee (besides using your right to vote of course) and that’s free coffee.

Voting is open on 26–28 October and 31 October–2 November, between 10 am and 6 pm. For more information and to vote, visit the HYY website.
