This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Helsinki chapter.
Discover the benefits of strawberries for the skin and try making your own beauty masks with strawberries at home!

I love strawberries! They are my favorite fruit. Their crimson red color and cool taste take me straight to summer! Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, strawberries nourish the body and the skin with their regenerative properties and provide excellent results on oily skin, being the perfect natural exfoliator as they are.

The benefits of strawberries on the skin

Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin E and antioxidants. They enhance the natural glow of the skin and protect cells from radiation while also removing dark circles and puffiness in the eye area. Tip: Put two slices of strawberries under your eyes at least 3 times a week, and you will see visible results.

As for the premature wrinkles that appear around the age of 25, strawberries could not offer anything better than their exfoliating property, removing dead cells, and moisturizing the face. Besides, they are equally helpful for acne and dark spots, while their red color, due to anthocyanins, protects the skin from UV radiation.

Here are two recipes with strawberries for making the perfect facial mask at home:

Mask with strawberry and honey:

Ideal for oily or mixed skin. This mask eliminates acne and offers deep exfoliation.

Ingredients:

5 fresh strawberries, 2 teaspoons of honey

Preparation:

Mash the strawberries.

Add honey, mix together, and apply the mixture on your face for 20 minutes.

Remove with cold water or ice cubes wrapped in paper.

Repeat for 2-3 times a week.

Mask with strawberries and olive oil:

Olive oil will give your skin freshness and hydration while deeply cleansing it.

Ingredients:

5 fresh strawberries, 1 tsp of olive oil, 1 lemon (squeeze for juice), and 1/2 tsp of sugar

Preparation:

Mash the strawberries and add them to the lemon juice and sugar mixture.

Stir until smooth.

Apply the mask on your face for 25-30 minutes.

Repeat at least 4 times a week.

Remember to always take care of yourself and relax as often as possible!
