.) When moving in:
I lived on the 4th floor of an outdoor building with no elevator. Move-in was not the best way to start out the first day of freshman year, even though my gluteus was thanking me for the next week.
.) When older guys tried talking to me and my friends at parties:
.) When meeting new people for the first time:
.) Trying to juggle school work, a social life, and sleep for the first time in college:
.) When you hit up your buddy’s first college birthday party:
Such a saddening phenomenon that cake is now out of the birthday tradition.
.) When it’s been about five weekends of trying to seem cool by going out and you realize you can be just as cool staying in and ordering Chinese food:
.) When you’re trying to find a decent guy freshman year:
.) When you get that first A in a college class:
.) When you get winded from walking around campus and pretending to be fine:
…sometimes it feels pretty close to falling down the pit.
.) When even on the roughest of mornings, the Cafe and Carolina’s Diner will always be there for you with Waffles:
.) When you finally get a tight enough squad to have girls nights: (or even a galentines day)
.) When you suspect someone may have stolen your food for the first time:
.) When you work out for the first time since Summer:
.) When you go home for the first time and trying to think of crazy college stories to tell your friends:
.) No matter what, we all remember our freshmen year and the trials it put us through. We can pretend to not understand our past selves, but we should appreciate what we learned and thank Amy Poehler and Tina Fey for understanding the painful struggle that being a Freshman again is.
