Have you ever wanted a piercing that no one else has? And no I don’t mean being the first one in your crew to rock a septum ring. I mean a piercing that you may have seen on tumblr and never thought you had the guts to pull off, or maybe you want something just as unique as you are. Well good news, there are plenty of piercings out there that rebel from the norm and are almost one in a million on any college campus. Take a look at some of these piercings you may not have heard of but should definitely give a try next time you feel like adding edge to your look.Â
1. Bridge Piercing
Alright, so you’ve probably seen this piercing once or twice on the street but they’re pretty hard to come by. Bridge piercings are great for someone who wants to bring attention to their eyes and contrary to belief, they don’t go through the bone. Just make sure you go to an experienced piercing who can adjust this look to match up perfectly with your face.
Â
2. Dahlia Piercings
Surprisingly, there are a lot of lip piercings out there! From snake bites, various labrets, even the occassional monroe, theres no wrong way to pucker up for your piercer. The Dahlia piercings are trickier than normal lip piercings, because if they aren’t placed correctly they are prone to tearing but a professional will know what to do.
Â
3. Horizontal Labret Piercing
Never thought you could pierce a lip like that eh? Well you can and this piercing will make your lips more kissable than ever. The horizontal labret is just starting to gain more popularity in the modification world, with the use of a curved barbell and piercers trained in modifying their techniques to unique anatomies. The horizontal labret holds many of the same characteristics as the more mainstream vertical labret, which means that kissing and eating aren’t impossible but be careful with your kisser!
Â
4. Horizontal Lobe Piercing
No I am not trying to prunk you, those balls are not staying up by magnets or magic. No my friend, just like you can piercing vertically through the earlobe, you can also pierce through it on a horizontal for a subtly unique new look.Â
Â
5. Anti-Tragus Piercing
Tragus piercings may be all the rage, but an anti-tragus is perfect for someone who wants to color outside the lines in a way that mom and dad will approve of. The ears are home to countless piercing possibilities and the anti-tragus is just one of the ways to dip your toes into the idea of alternative piercings.
Â
6. High Nostril Piercing
Forget piercing your nostrils the old fashion way, Â try someone a little bit more exotic. These piercings are perfect for the girl who thinks that the conventional nostril and septum piercings are a bit over done, but make sure that you’re ready for a little bit more of a complicated process. Placement is key, you don’t want them too high into the hard tissue of your nose and the receiving needle may feel a bit uncomfortable that high up.
Â
7. Jestrum Piercing
Want a perfect hyrbid between a medusa and the vertical labret? Meet the jestrum piercing. This look will certainly capture some attention in a new and exciting piercing that is super safe compared to other more unconventional piercings.
Â
8. Vertical Nipple Piercings
Shocker, you may want to sit down. You can not only pierce your nipples horizontally, but vertically as well! This look is just as safe, just as painful (unfortunately), but not nearly as common as other nipple jewels out there.
Â
9. Frog Eyes Piercing
Now keep in mind, I may be a piercing expert but I am not a piercer. This piercing has a bit of controversy surrounding it (like Dahlias) because of the veins that go through the tongue, but some piercers will give you the go ahead to go double or nothing on a frog eyes or double tongue piercing.
Â
10. Horizontal Eyebrow Piercing
Similar to the Bridge piercing in that this one isn’t totally unheard, the horizontal eyebrow piercing is perfect if you’ve always wanted your eyebrow pierce but are down for a style that is a little less common. And let me tell you, I can already imagine this look with perfectly penciled in brows and I can say that it would look absolutely amazing on anyone with a brow fetish.
