Most people, including myself, are always looking for quick and easy ways to live healthier. Even if that just means making simple lifestyle changes, there are things everyone can do to achieve their goals. Here are the five things that I do to help me live a healthier life and achieve my goals!
Take the Stairs Instead of the Elevator
I always opt to use the stairs when tempted with an elevator. Trust me, I know the elevator may be calling your name but the stairs are where you should be. Taking the stairs is a quick and easy way to maximize the number of steps you get in a day. Climbing stairs are not only good for the muscles in your legs, but also for your glutes and abdominals.

Eat Egg Whites Instead of Eggs
Although egg yolks contain essential vitamins and minerals, they also have substantial amounts of cholesterol that may be unhealthy if eaten in large amounts. In addition, egg whites also contain significantly fewer calories than whole eggs, while still providing large amounts of protein.
Hydrate With Water
If you take a look inside of my room, it is guaranteed that you will see at least 5 water bottles at any given time. This is because I only drink water. Water is essential for your body to undergo its life processes. Water hydrates your cells, reduces acne, and makes you feel energized. If you’re a person who enjoys drinking soft drinks or coffee regularly, try swapping one of them for water. Start with one drink a day and gradually increase until a majority of your drinks are water. You will notice a difference in your mood, energy level, and most importantly, your health!

Swap Beef for Turkey and Fries for Sweet Potato Fries
I’m a foodie and enjoy eating foods like burgers and fries. Whenever I’m craving a burger and fries, I swap the red meat for turkey and the regular fries for sweet potato fries if possible. Even though burgers and fries aren’t the healthiest foods you can eat, making this simple swap can save your body from consuming extra calories, fats, and cholesterol, while still satisfying your craving. Sweet potato fries also contain vitamins not found in regular fries, making them a healthier alternative.
Exercise
I know that exercise may seem dreadful to some people, but there are many fun ways to get exercise. I make it a priority to go to the gym at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. I enjoy using machines such as the treadmill, stair climber, and elliptical. If the gym isn’t for you, there are many activities that you can do to move your body. Dance, hula hoop, playing basketball, and walking are some of my favorites. You can even blast your favorite music or put on Netflix while doing it. Distracting yourself will make you forget you’re even exercising!
