Actual spring weather is quickly approaching on Long Island. Here are a few suggestions of places to visit before your last few weekends of freedom expire during finals season.
Gardens and Mansions
Old Westbury Gardens
Long Island is full of gorgeous mansions that the public can tour and this property is no exception. These grounds are very beautiful and you can tour the house if you head over.

Planting Fields Arboretum
The grounds are unreal at Planting Fields Arboretum. There are multiple greenhouses and a completely restored mansion you can tour on the property.

Oheka Castle
Not only is this castle gorgeous, but also Taylor Swift filmed her Blank Space music video here. So what you are reading is— this castle is a must visit place on the island this spring.

Food
McDonald’s in New Hyde Park
This McDonald’s is an old farmhouse that was converted to another fast food chain in the 80’s. This is probably one of the prettiest McDonald’s out there and a must-see for your adventures.
Locate them using McDonald’s website here.

Rebecca’s Cake Pops
Rebecca’s Cake Pops are one of the most aesthetically pleasing desserts I have ever seen. There are designs for every occasion and they have walk-in hours for you to buy up whatever they have in stock.

Bubba’s Burrito Bar
This burrito bar is a California-inspired restaurant, but has a very creative menu. The options vary from a traditional burrito to the “Guilt Trip” that includes chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fried potatoes, and more.

Beaches
Gilgo Beach
Gilgo beach is unique because it has a lot of graffiti for cool Instagram-worthy pictures. Check it out in Suffolk County if you are looking for a different beach experience.
Check them out on the New York State Park website here.

Long Beach
Long Beach is a great place for surfers to catch some waves. And after soaking up the sun and surf you can hit up the food trucks and restaurants in town.
