This New Year’s Eve, the Times Square Ball shouldn’t be the only thing sparkling. If your anything like me; you want the perfect look as you ring in the new year. There are plenty of ways to add some glam to your New Year’s Eve ensemble without having to purchase an expensive outfit. Beauty products can add the perfect amount of shine and glamour to your outfit of choice. Here are four ways to make a statement that will last into the new year.
1. Eye Shadows: The type of eye shadow you choose can either make or break your whole entire look. One rule I like to follow, is to never perfectly match the color of my eye shadow to what I’m wearing. You always want some contrast; after all a bright blue dress may look fabulous on you but matching shadow can be overkill. Smokey eyes are my favorite look for a night out on the town. Too Faced has a great new Smokey Eye Shadow Collection that contains nine complimentary shades for different smokey eye looks. The kit also includes directions on how to apply and blend the different colors for those who aren’t as makeup savvy. However, if your outfit is lacking some color, you can try Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Luminizing Eye Shadow. The product comes in five different hues such as “Caffeine Rush” and “Amethyst Ablaze.” The extra shimmer reflects light which will instantly brighten your eyes.
*Use an Eye Shadow Primer to guarantee that your shadow will last throughout the night.
2. Nail Polish: Nail polish is a simple way to add some color and fun into any outfit. On a night like New Year’s Eve it’s all about the shimmer; so pair a colored nail polish with a plain black dress to really make the color pop. OPI has some great choices when it comes to glamorous looking nail polish. Nicole by OPI’s Holiday Glitter contains great sparkly colors that will enhance any outfit. One of my favorite glitter colors in Nicole by OPI’s collection is Khloe’s shade “Disco Dolls.” The golden sparkle is perfect for New Year’s Eve and you can even use OPI’s Shatter Polish as a top coat for a more dramatic approach. If painting your own nails is not your forte, try Sally Hansen’s Salon effects Real Nail Polish Stripswhich are easy to use and come in many different patterns and colors.
3. Blushes: You don’t want to go overboard with bronzers and blushes but you still want to add a little color to your face. Try Benefit’s Sugarbomb blush which contains a perfect blend of peach, soft plum, pink and rose; making you look like a blushing beauty.
4. Lipstick: Last but not least, your lip color can really complete a look. You can always go with pinks or neutral colors but red can make your lips stand out; especially if the rest of your makeup isn’t as colorful. MAC has some great choices when it comes to luscious red lips.
You don’t have to be a beauty expert to look fabulous this New Year’s Eve. Try some of these tips for a glamorous look. Enjoy your holiday ladies!
