Dylan Ander

Year of graduation:  2016

Hometown: Lynbrook NY

Major: Business Management

1.     What made you choose Hofstra University?

I’m actually third generation! My grandmother and mom both went to Hofstra. That’s not the reason though, it’s close to home, and all my music industry contacts are on long island and NYC. I just lived here my whole life and when I was 17 years old I didn’t think too much about worldly travel, so it made sense.

2.     What is your current major and how did you choose it?

Business management. After school I plan on doing music. I’m currently a signed singer/songwriter, so having a business degree is a good backup plan.

3.     When did you first get into singing and songwriting?

I started with all 4 jazz saxophones. I always knew how much I loved music, but I never saw it become a reality until I was signed in 2013.

4.     What do you do in your spare time?

I don’t have spare time. I’m taking 21 credits, I intern 15 hours a week, and at night I have writing sessions or shows. So I truly don’t have any free time.

5.     How do you time manage?

I always take the things that are the most time sensitive and do them first.

6.     Where do you see yourself after graduation?

Right after I graduate in May I’ll be moving to Nashville to perusing music full time. I plan on being on tour again at the end of 2016.
