This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Are you in need of some ideas to make the most of your night? Halloween is a great time for those who want to celebrate it; however, if you have no plans put together for this chilling holiday, your night could turn out very dull. Maybe you’re not the party type, or you live far away from your family, whichever the reason, we’re here to tell you that there are a ton of activities you can do just from your own dorm to get you in the Halloween spirit. Banish boredom with this list of scary-fun things you can do if you’re not going out this Halloween.

1. Have a movie marathon

Get in the Halloween mood by catching up on your favorite horror movies. There are many classics you can watch on Netflix, Hulu and other streaming platforms. If horror movies aren’t your thing, try watching spooky movies like Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” or the “Haunted Mansion.” And if you’re not in the mood to watch Halloween-themed movies, re-watch Halloween episodes of your favorite tv shows.

2. Curl Up with a Scary book

Do you love reading? Try reading a horror, thriller or mystery book this Halloween. Reading spine-chilling books could be another fun activity to do this Halloween. Turn the lights down and curl up with a witchy romance or a chilling mystery to put you in the mood for the scary season.

And if you have the time or skills, try to make DIY Halloween crafts to put up; tutorials are easy to find online, and it’s sure to be a fun, low-budget activity you can try out to get your dorm, and yourself, in the Halloween spirit.

6. Learn how to Read Tarot Cards

7. Order Takeout From Your Favorite Restaurant

When you think of Halloween one of the first things that pops in your head is probably candy. Rightfully so! But besides gummy worms and candy corn, treat yourself by ordering food from your favorite restaurant.
