Name: Erin CasterÂ

Hometown: North Attleboro, MAÂ
Major/Minors: Dance Major/Psych Minor
What are you involved in on campus?
I am the president of MoVoM, the dance program club here at Hofstra, and the president of Hofstra’s chapter of National Honor Society for Dance Arts. I am a member of Danceworks, which I’ve both performed with and choreographed for.Â
What made you decide to come to Hofstra?
The number one reason I chose Hofstra was its prime location. I knew that being close to NYC would be really important for my career, and I knew it would be a great resource. Secondly, the amazing faculty made me want to be a part of this amazing program. They are all professionals in the industry, and they care so much about their students!Â
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Energetic, quirky, happyÂ
Favorite inspirational quote?
“If you can dream it, you can do it” Walt DisneyÂ
Best class you’ve taken at Hofstra?
That’s probably a three way tie. I took sociology of gender and absolutely loved the material, it was so eye opening. Second, I took positive psychology and it was absolutely life changing. I’ve become a much happier, less stressed out person, since it’s one of those classes that you can apply everything you’re learning to your life! Lastly I’m currently in a ballroom dance class and it’s such a blast!Â
What’s your favorite book?
Pride and Prejudice by Jane AustenÂ
What’s your strangest talent?
I don’t really have any strange talents, but I’m a legendary burper.Â
What is the best concert/show/play you’ve ever been to?
The best show I’ve ever seen would probably be Newsies on Broadway. I saw it twice, and each time I was just as blown away. The set, the costumes, the music, the choreography… The talent was astounding. I’m still not over it!
