Major: Business Marketing
Why did you choose Business Marketing? I chose this major because it combined my desire to be creative with my management and organization skills. As a child I always saw myself in a creative profession, but as I grew older I realized that I had skill sets that could lead me to do something creative but that was in the business field, which is more stable then my childhood dream to be a Broadway star with my not-so-wonderful singing voice.
What is your dream job? My dream job is to be one of the brand managers or creative heads of Walt Disney’s Animation Studio. All things Disney, in particular animation, is a passion of mine and being able to be involved in bringing the brands I love to new generations is the best job I could ask for.
How are you involved on campus? I am extremely involved in my school’s campus. I am president of one of the larger organizations, Entertainment Unlimited, which acts as a programming board for the entire student body. We plan trips, events, and movies that are open to the entire campus and a free or low cost, so that students have the opportunity to attend. What I love about my club is that it is for the students; everything we do benefits the campus rather than just the club itself. I was also a Pride Guide for two years and gave prospective students tours of the campus.
What advice do you have for incoming business majors? Keep your head up and make sure to take advantage of your electives. Have fun with your classes. A lot of business classes can seem daunting, but if you take them with an open mind and write about companies you are interested in you’ll be all set.
