Welcome to the “TikTok Trends” blog where each week I’ll be reviewing the latest trends on everyone’s favorite app that keeps them up until 2 a.m., TikTok!
Breaking the deadly hilarious tweets about President Donald Trump testing positive for COVID-19; a new dance emerged. On Oct. 10, âDarling Darling twerk for meâ brought a new trend to TikTok. Hailey Nelson (@haileyynelson) brought this spotlight dance to the floor.
Many females are using this sound to impress their spouses, partners, friends and families to grab some attention. Charli DâAmelio, the sixteen-year-old dancer with 91.8 million followers on TikTok, posted a video doing the dance from her Hollywood Hills family room. On Monday, Oct. 5, she twerked in front of her mother, Heidi. This dance is rated âRâ for inappropriate, but it is also a thirst trap, which is why Mrs. Heidi D’Amelio jumps in to keep it PG for viewers.
How do you learn this dance? Well, first grab a pair of athletic shoes and a pair of four or five inseam shorts to create a fabulous outfit. Start by bringing your hands into a fist and down to your hips. Bounce your fist downward starting with your right hand, then left one time before, doing the same punch on your backside. Next, take each hand individually behind the dancer to roll your hand in a fast circle. Pretend like youâre mixing some cookie dough quickly in place with each hand. Next, bounce your right elbow on your right knee two times while turning to the left side. Lastly, bend your back into a 45-degree angle and twerk. Some users like to smile off the embarrassment after, but donât have any shame in being proud of your body.
Twerking tip: Once your back is arched, come up on your tip toes and bounce up and down repeatedly. This is the simplest way to twerk. The full song can be found on youtube. Youtuber David Dobrik sums up his thoughts funnily in his caption on TikTok while his two friends do this dance: âHahahaha I donât know when they have time to learn this.â Within a mere 24 hours, DâAmelio, Dobrik and Cynthia Parker brought 178.8 million likes for this dance.Â
Many content houses like âNot a Content House,’ ‘The Hype Houseâ and âSway LAâ are now a part of this trend.
Until next time Tik Tok Dancers, keep dancing the day away. Youâre beautiful, youâre worthy of love and donât let any hate comments tear you down with fun dances like these.Â
