5 Costumes We’re Bound to see on The Hill

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

Halloween falls on a Friday this year, so we all know that means that Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night all hold the potential for some fabulous costumes. As this weekend full of fun is quickly approaching, here are five types of costumes that will undoubtedly be spotted on the Hill.

  1. The Classic

If a girl has never been a cat/mouse/bunny, has she ever really experienced Halloween? Although these classics tend to be over done, we embrace them anyways because they are cute and simple. Costumes like these are an easy go-to, and can always be spiced up by adding your own creative touch. “The Classic” is for you if you’re looking to channel your inner Mean Girls.

  1. Group Themed

What are cowboys without Indians, angels without devils, the blue M&M without the red, or Thing 1 without Thing 2? Group costumes are a fun (and picture-perfect) way to celebrate Halloween with all of your friends.

  1. The Halloween Couple

HC Campus Couples: take notes! There’s nothing better than getting a little Halloween-festive with your significant other! People would most definitely roll their eyes if you dressed up as Cinderella and Prince Charming any old day, but Halloween is the exception to embrace your inner corniness. Extra points to the couples with creative and funny duo costumes!

  1. The Traditional

We can always count on some traditional costumes to remind us about the true Halloween spirit. Halloween wouldn’t be right without some witches and zombies. Here’s how to kick these traditional costumes up a notch!

  1. The Last-Minuter

So Halloween came quicker than you thought, and everyone’s about to go out and you can’t just go as yourself again this year…. and you really just don’t want to be a ghost. If this is you, look no further than your own closet! Whip up a hippie costume, cut a white tee into a skeleton. Even though you came up with your costume in a matter of minutes, you don’t have to look like it!!
