How to Cope with the End of Warm Weather on the Hill

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.
  1. Accept that you’ll be cold every time you go outside for the next 4 months (at least)
  2. If #1 doesn’t work for you, try these next few: Wear your layers, boots, and a scarf. Everyone seriously underestimates how much warmer a scarf can make you. As for the boots, there’s really no other way to keep those tootsies from going numb while trekking up Mt. Saint James.
  3. Look on the bright side: no more outdoor activities that will distract you from getting your work done! Goodbye sunshine, hello GPA boost!
  4. All of the best holidays happen in the cold; get pumped for Halloweekend, Turkey day, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Val’s day! (all of which involve sweet treats…it’s definitely ok to indulge in some chocolate during these cold months)

  5. Get excited to snuggle up with your besties (or your SO) and finally watch all of the new series everyone’s been gabbing about! How to Get Away with Murder anyone?!?! #addicted
  6. Snow. Even if you can’t stand the cold or the snow (come on, you have to look forward to the snowy instagrams), the slightest possibility and excitement of class being canceled is enough to get you through even the coldest days.
