With Juno having swathed the Hill in a deep cover of snow, it’s easy just to sacrifice fashion for function in order to stay warm. But fret not! You don’t have to stick with the same old cable knit sweater uniform to stay warm. Explore different styles and colors to keep things interesting and to keep you from getting into a winter style rut this semester.
- A Cowl-neck Sweater:What’s the best part about trying out this slouchy version of a turtleneck? The fact that you have a built in infinity scarf to add extra warmth and extra style at the same time.
- Sweater Dress:I know what you’re thinking. “A dress? In cold weather?!”. Yes, a dress and no, I’m not crazy. A sweater dress provides some nice warmth on its own and if you layer on some thick tights underneath, your legs won’t turn completely blue walking to Cool Beans or class. Also, a simple sweater dress in a neutral color will go with just about any of your winter boots so you don’t have to worry about your feet getting cold either!
- A Fun Pattern:Take advantage of all the fun color palettes associated with St. Patricks Day and Easter to branch away from your everyday plain sweater and swap in a fun printed one. Whether it’s a heart print, polka dots. or even just a single graphic, prints and bright colors can keep an otherwise basic sweater from being, well, basic. Plus, who doesn’t like a fun pop of color against all this white snow?
