If we’re being honest, this campus is a HIKE and can turn a well-rested chica into a sweaty, thigh-burning pig. Being a fit-ish girl myself, I like to think that the stairs we stair-cut out of our days are not going to make that much of a difference. In the end, if we take an extra 10 minutes to avoid getting exhausted commuting around campus WHO CARES! Set your alarm an extra 5 minutes early. Yes, I know it is contradictory to motivate yourself to be lazy, but giving yourself the time to get to class on time ensures you are looking cool, calm, collected. Essentially, a conqueror of the hill.
- Fenwick ElevatorLeaving Kimball is usually never a “Wow, I feel so light and fluffy and bouncy” experience. Thus, if you take the Kimball stairs to Fenwick, there is an elevator down the hall when you take a right in Fenwick. It will bring you up to the 3rd floor, right near the hovel, where you can head to Hogan for that elevator.Â
- Science building ElevatorThe confusing Science building has a main elevator that will bring you up to the 3rd floor, which is right behind Wheeler, thus cutting out the library stairs and the science building stairs. Then, you can head towards Hogan for that elevator. Crisis averted!Â
- Hogan ElevatorThe Hogan elevator is like the headquarters for short cuts. It connects many places through the peaceful convenience of its’ elevator. Take it down, from the entrance/front of Hogan to the basement if you need to get to anything behind Hogan. If you’re headed to Easy street from behind Hogan, take the elevator to the second floor as it spits you right out on easy street! Save your thighs from that burn!Â
- Loyola StairsFor all you Mulledy, Clark, and even Hanselman peeps, avoid Loyola hill and that vertical incline from Hell and take the easier, more broken up stairs that are located by the Loyola gate, behind the art building.Â
- Smith Building Warm-CutFor the cold winter…or spring…or fall… days, the Smith/Fenwick building is a great warm cut. If you are headed towards Kimball, head into Smith by the hovel, go down the stairs and out the front of Fenwick. If you are headed to Stein or Science, use Smith/Fenwick and take a left when you get to the bottom of the stairs, head towards O’Kane, and take that exit which puts you much closer to Stein and Science.
Be confident ladies and know that working smarter is better than working harder when it comes to the tedious hills of Holy Cross. Grab a friend, save the sweat, and shortcut this hill!
