I had a great time meeting Ashley Bunici this past week and we shared an enjoyable conversation. During National Women’s Month, it is important that we acknowledge the inspirational females in our lives, and a great way to do this is simply to ask questions to those who provoke curiosity, or to someone to whom you may not talk often.
Ashley is a freshman from Long Island, New York, who is on the pre-law track here at Holy Cross. She has enjoyed her first semester (plus a few months) on The Hill and is looking forward to future memories to be made in her college experience.
As anyone would, our conversation had a lot to do with food, and we definitely agreed on every question in that realm: her favorite food of all time is pasta, although she loves a good New York bagel (which is definitely worth the hype). When I asked if she preferred Skippy or Jif peanut butter, she presented, in my opinion, the only valid answer–Skippy!
Although each of these opinions were wonderful to hear, my favorite part about my interview with Ashley was hearing what she wants to do after Holy Cross, and the reason as to why she is pre-law. For a career, Ashley is looking to become a lawyer for people with disabilities and special needs, as she is passionate about helping others. Ashley’s sister has a disability, which has been a major reason as to why she is leaning towards this profession. The future is definitely female, and girls like Ashley will be taking on the world with whatever they choose to do. National Women’s Month is all about commemorating the vital role of women in American history, and Ashley’s drive and inspiration is an example of why we celebrate equality and opportunity among women in America.
