Coming back for the second semester is always exciting, but one of the things I look forward to the most is the new sandwiches at D’Agostino Cafe. Almost three times a week, the half-sandwich meal swipes in D’Ags become my study break for my friends and I. While of course, I am going to miss the old ones (like the Teriyaki Naan), this semester has some great new choices. All of these, I have tried and reviewed, and below are my chosen favorites so you know which sandwiches are really worth the try.

Fig and Goat Cheese Naan

Personally, I am the biggest fan of goat cheese. Goat cheese and fig is such a classic charcuterie board combo that I was thrilled to try in the form of a sandwich. There are pickles in this sandwich that I was nervous about before I tried it. I am also a huge pickle fan, but I was not sure how I was going to feel about the three flavors together. I was very pleasantly surprised with this combination, as it is now my go to sandwich that I look forward to. The sweetness of the fig works shockingly well with the saltiness of the pickle. If you are a charcuterie board fan, this sandwich is perfect for you.

Campfire arc

This sandwich never disappoints. It is a pretty classic sandwich because it has turkey and bacon, but the BBQ chip crumble on the sandwich makes it a little bit more fun. This one is definitely less adventurous than the Fig and Goat Cheese Naan, but if you want to try something a little more generic with a small twist, this is the sandwich to pick.

turkey chipotle naan

This one is pretty similar to the Campfire Arc review. It is a generic sandwich because it has turkey, bacon, and cheese, but the chipotle mayo adds a little bit of fun and it definitely spices up the combo. It definitely has more flavor than the Campfire Arc, but is not as unique as the Fig and Goat Cheese Naan.

Poke Bowl from Lower Kimball

While I know this is not a D’Agostino sandwich, the Lower Kimball Poke Bowls are my absolute favorite lunch Holy Cross has to offer. I get one at least twice a week, and I will never get sick of it. It also is a fairly healthy and delicious option. The only negative about it is that it does utilize dining dollars, but in my opinion, it is so, so worth it.
