One of the best holidays is upon us, and I couldn’t be more excited to partake in the festivities and traditions with my friends and family. Here are some of my favorite things to do when I’m home on Thanksgiving break:
- Bake: The second my best friend and I get home from college, we run to the grocery store to find all the required ingredients for muffins, pies, and Thanksgiving treats. We love to bake pumpkin muffins, add chocolate chips, and watch a movie while they bake. There’s nothing better than coming home for Thanksgiving break and having a bake sesh with your friends and family.
- Head into your nearest city: I live in New Jersey and being close to New York City definitely has its perks. Obviously my family loves to go in for a day, visit Rockefeller center, maybe see a broadway show, and have dinner. Whether you live near a small town that has their own holiday traditions or a big city with grandiose shopping and excursions, take a trip in and enjoy the holiday fun.
- Run a turkey trot: You don’t need to be fast or a marathon runner to do a turkey trot. My family loves to run this annual race, and we have so much fun doing it. You get a little boost in energy before the big day, and engage in such a fun activity with your community.
- Go apple picking: Fall is obviously the best season to go apple picking and what better time than around Thanksgiving! Find a day where the weather is nice and take a trip to your nearest farm or orchard.
- The Clothes: Find a fun Thanksgiving outfit that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Thanksgiving attire is simply my favorite. I love to pick out a cute skirt and sweater with riding boots – it gets me in the perfect holiday mood. Be bold and creative!
