1. GrassAfter 103+ inches of snow, the first signs of grass are a glorious glimpse of spring and nicer weather. There’s really nothing better than the first afternoon we can sit on the Hoval and soak up the sun, rather than burying ourselves in the stacks of Dinand.
2. Spring WeekendAhh Spring Weekend…the calm before the storm of finals. Other than being a weekend of denial about the impending work ahead, Spring Weekend is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the weather and culminate a great semester. The Easy St. Fair (feat. live bunnies), fireworks, and the Spring Concert- who’s excited about Jessie J?!, are some of the biggest highlights of the semester, and the final hurrah before we leave for summer.
3. Working OutWith warmer weather there may be less motivation to do schoolwork, but luckily more motivation to get fit. The walk to Hart is approximately 3 minutes closer because the snow is finally melting, and the hill can be used as a shortcut. For those of us who avoid the treadmill at all costs, taking a jog outside is finally an option again, and it does not involve freezing temperatures and dodging snow banks and falling icicles. AND of course, the real motivator as we approach temperatures in the 50s and 60s is that in only a month or so we will be sitting on the beach and sporting our post-hibernation bodies.
