Having a Hot Girl Halloween does not necessarily mean you have to buy multiple, intricate costumes; its true meaning is when you feel happy and confident in anything you decide to wear!Â
Halloween night occurs in the middle of the semester. It is typically the busiest time of school, with midterms and projects piling up, it can be hard to put together the perfect costume. Store-bought costumes can also be expensive, and if you’re like me and wait until the last minute to decide what you want to be, your options may be limited.Â
Here are a couple of costume ideas you can create from pieces you probably already have in your closet!
There are so many different DIY Halloween costumes you can choose to bring to life. The first step is choosing what theme or category your costume falls under. Do you want to be something scary, comical, or cute? Once you figure this out, then you can pick out your pieces. The main idea is to find most of your costume from items you already have, and then you can purchase or make small accessories to complete the fit. Adding makeup or special effects will also give a special touch.
One of the easiest and funniest things you could be is a ghost. All you need is a white sheet and scissors to cut two holes for your eyes, and you’re ready to spook and make your friends laugh. This costume was trending on TikTok in late September as #GhostPhotoshoot. People were creating this costume and going to grocery stores, parks, or posing, doing normal daily activities while making aesthetic photos for the feed. A ghost costume would also be comfortable and covid friendly.Â
If you want to step it up and be something spooky, you could create a vampire costume. All you need is dark-colored clothing. Depending on your preference and the vibe you’re going for, you could use a black dress, pants, or top. To spice it up, if you have a leather jacket or black laced clothing, you could add this as well. To enhance this look, you could play with makeup to give an immortal appearance. You could also purchase fake blood and add it wherever necessary. This costume can be unique to you, it can be dressed up or down, and there are so many versions of vampires you could portray. You could be the OG Dracula, Vampire Diaries version, or the iconic Twilight Cullen vampire. This will create a memorable Halloween costume.
Now, if you want to keep it simple and chic, you can let your favorite character inspire your look. Let’s say you want to be Sabrina from the hit Netflix series. All you need is a black headband, red dress, and loafers, and you’re spot on. Or if you want to be a character from Bridgerton, you just need a pastel or floral printed dress, add jewelry and a corset, and you’re golden. There are so many costumes you can create just from the inspiration from your favorite novel, show, or movie. Color coordination and accessible accessories are key, but the most important aspect is that you enjoy and feel confident in the costume. Others don’t decide whether your costume is hot girl material. You are the judge and jury. So, no matter what or who you decide to be this Halloween, remember the most important part is to just have fun creating your hot girl costume!
