Devon Cravens, junior kinesiology major at College of the Redwoods, packed and ready on Wednesday for her spring break trip to Honolulu City, Hawaii.
Cravens packed her clothes, binders, and snacks into a black NorthFace backpack and one suitcase. Cravens will spend one night in San Jose with friends and then fly out to Oahu Friday morning. Cravens will spend seven days on “The Big Island” with her boyfriend Jim MacWilliam. | Shelby Meyers
Prepared for “Island Style” Cravens packed her Toms, and flip flops called “Locals” that MacWilliam sent earlier this year. “Locals” are plain black-rubber flip flops that cost about $3. Cravens said these flip flops are popular on the island. Pastel-striped linen pants, basic tees and tanks, and a single makeup bag fill Cravens suitcase. | Shelby Meyers

A camera is a must have for any traveler to make and keep a few memories. Giles also keeps her facial cleansing pads handy—traveling gets greasy! Sawyer will be experiencing his first plane ride this Spring break! Stephanie Giles, HC Humboldt news editor, will be traveling home to Huntington Beach on JetBlue.The carrier has to be able to fit under the seat with Sawyer inside and it cannot exceed 20 pounds. Giles’s big-boned kitty has thick fur, so he was put on a diet to lighten him up! Giles also got him, “Quiet Moments” kitty formula for the journey so he can relax! | Stephanie Giles
