Subzero tempertatures this past week have caused the very top of Seneca Lake to freeze over. Â Did you know the last time Seneca Lake completely froze, from Geneva to Watkins Glen, was in 1912? Making this the Contennial year of the last total-freeze. Â In fact, there are only four times in recorded history that Seneca Lake has fully frozen over: 1855, 1875, 1885, and 1912! Â It is very difficult for Seneca Lake to freeze completely because it is the deepest lake in the state of New York. Â Keeping our fingers UN-crossed for the oppertunity to walk down the lake to Watkins Glen this winter!!
