Some may argue that quotes are simply just sayings and don’t really mean anything, but for me whenever I am going through a hard time, I read one of these quotes and feel ten times better. I’m not saying that quotes are the solution to all your problems, but they truly do help you get into a better mindset.
Everything Happens for a Reason
Ah yes, you’ve heard this so many times before and are probably sick of hearing it. I know when something bad happens to me that’s the last thing I want to hear, however if you choose to believe this you will learn how to overcome your obstacles much easier. It’s easy to think that the world is conspiring against you and life is unfair, but know that whatever you are dealing with it is happening to teach you something. Everything does happen for a reason, even if you have no idea what that reason is.
Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it
My aunt told me this quote during a rough time in my life, and it always stuck. She explained to me that you can’t change the inevitable, but you can change how you deal with it. Ever since then I have always tried to make the most of whatever cards I’ve been dealt and I don’t dwell on the situation. Life can be really unfair sometimes, but you can choose to let your struggles define you or you can overcome them.
Nothing will change, if nothing changes
This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you don’t like something, change it. People tend to complain about what’s going on in their lives, but don’t do anything about it. All the energy you put into talking about your problems you could’ve been working on a solution. If you don’t like the grades you have, spend more time studying and go in for help, don’t just give up and complain that you hate school. Life is all about choices, so it’s up to you to make the good ones and if you are not happy with what you’re doing in life, change it.
I didn’t come this far to only come this far
I read this quote whenever I am feeling unmotivated to finish a task, whether that be homework or going to work out. It can be very hard to maintain the same energy towards the end of something compared to when you started it. Many people believe it’s easy easier to stop something than to keep working hard and finish it. In the long run, giving up is the worst possible choice because there is no reason to throw away all the hard work that you’ve already done. Life is not a sprint, just keep trucking along and finish what you have to do.
Look on the Bright Side
I saved this one for last because this has been my mantra ever since I was in middle school. My friends would always tease me about this because I would never stop saying it. I have always had a positive mindset in life because I am aware of how great my life is. I have an amazing group of family and friends that I wouldn’t exchange for anything. Yes, sometimes life can be a lot better, but it definitely could be a lot worse. Looking on the bright side has made me a happier person and made it easier for me to deal with whatever life throws at me.
