Amanda Bynes Putting on a New Kind of Show: Success Story or a Sad Ending?

Amanda Bynes, 27, is in the middle of a transformation. Amanda says she wants to be like her role model, Blac Chyna (below), a famous stripper. Well Amanda IS getting good at taking it all off…from the hair on her head, to the extra skin on her nose (ew?), to the pounds at the gym and to her clothes in her selfies.

It is rumored that Amanda’s public behavior has been rather odd. Supposedly she spends at least an hour in the bathroom in public places such as shops and salon bathrooms. I don’t know what she’s doing in there, but I can guess she is not making the newest segment of “The Girls Room“. Maybe she spends time checking out her tragic dimple piercings? Or admiring her nose job which she refers to as “the most amazing thing”…or she’s just taking selfies in her bra while she tweets up a storm.

In regards to her brutal honesty on twitter, I suppose it could be appreciated that she vocalizes her struggle with self image. It shows girls that even if you are famous, found in movies, shows, and magazines, you can still feel insecure about your body. But where does talking about her sex life fit into that? She encourages Amanda fans to engage in her sex life on twitter, when she tweets things like “I want @drake murder my vagina” UM WHAT? 1. Ouch. 2. Not very lady like 3. Ouch. But that is just my opinion. (P.S. Drake hasn’t answered any of Amanda’s 50 Shades of Bynes type tweets.)

Let’s talk about Amanda’s selfies. She prefers them to the magazine look because they are real and current. Okay, that is a somewhat valid point. But can magazines really use selfies that are on the verge of soft porn? We are happy that Amanda finds confidence in her nose job, dimple piercings, and half shaven head. But ladies? This is not the new Summer 2013 trend…because looking like a stripper won’t get you brought home to meet mom.  

So to answer the question, is Amanda a success story or a sad ending? Well, if her goal is to be like a famous stripper, then I have to say no one does it better than Amanda Bynes right now. My prediction? This is not the last we will see of Amanda.
