After coming across this DIY tank top online, I thought it was the perfect project to share with you guys! I’m sure we all can agree that we all dislike at least one thing about ourselves, right? Unfortunately, the female society has such distorted images of what beautiful really is! You all are beautiful, whether you’re a size 2 or a size 14+! This shirt is a fun project and an awesome way to make a statement!
What you’ll need:
Blank Tank Top (Any color you want)
Fabric Paint (Spray or liquid, if liquid, you’ll also need a paint brush)
Stencil letters (You can purchase these at a craft store like Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics. You also can choose from a variety of fonts to make your shirt how you want it)
A piece of cardboard
Scissors
Tape
Step One:
If your shirt is used, make sure you wash and dry it before starting this project. If your shirt is new, skip this step.
Step Two:
Put the piece of cardboard in your shirt so you have a flat surface to work on. If you’re using spray paint, you might want to put newspaper or a poster board under your shirt so you don’t get paint on your floor.
Step Three:
Cut out your stencil letters and place them on your shirt how you want.
Step Four:
Tape the letters on your shirt so they don’t move while you’re painting.
Step Five:
Paint your letters and wait for it to dry completely, then you’re done!
You can also make your tank look edgy by marking certain spots of the shirt with paint (like in the picture). Also, you don’t have to use an inspirational saying if you don’t want to, these would also be fun shirts to make for a bar crawl or something fun! Be unique!
