Makeup Products I Use Daily

Makeup is an ever changing business and cosmetics are used differently depending on the user. As someone who enjoys makeup myself, here are some of the brands/products I use on the daily to explore artistic, fun looks to make my day a little more exciting. 

e.l.f Cosmetics Expert Liquid Liner

Liquid Eyeliner in shade Jet Black.

The e.l.f cosmetics Expert Liquid Liner is my holy grail. I wore this eyeliner for all 4 years of high school, and it stays on (at least in my experience of using the product). It’s easy to apply with a holdable tip, and glides on smoothly. A downside is that the liner can be a bit runny, and can sometimes smudge on your eyelids throughout the day. Overall, for a cheap eyeliner, it is really well made and works like a charm for my daily eyeliner looks.

e.l.f cosmetics Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow

Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in shade Ocean Eyes. 

As someone who loves glitter products, this is a fun one to apply that give your eyes an extra pop of color. It applies in one swipe and has pretty decent coverage, though some reviewers say it’s a bit patchy. The best way to put it on is in thin layers, so it doesn’t dry weird on your eyelids. The color swatches are stunning as well, with shades that range in cool tones to glittering metallics.

NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss

When it comes to lipstick, I love something that feels smooth and lightweight and the NYX Butter Gloss is the perfect product. The application is smooth and creamy, and the colors offered are stunning. They range from soft nudes to daring reds and pinks. The bottle itself is small for transport, and is easy to apply. If you’re sensitive to sticky products, this might not be the best product for you, but for me, it’s a perfect lip gloss to wear for any occasion.

NYX Professional Lip Lingerie XXL Long-Lasting Matte Liquid Lipstick:

24 of the 31 shades NYX Professional Makeup Cosmetics offers. 

Matte lipstick is a hit or miss, because I usually prefer lipsticks that feel light and smooth on my lips. However, the Lip Lingerie Matte Lipstick is smooth, dries quickly, and has a large variety of colors. A downside to this lipstick is that it makes your lips feel a bit dry and it requires you to reapply it throughout the day. If you love matte lipsticks and love the color variety, it’s a good lipstick to invest in.

As someone who loves eyeliner, I will promote the Vivid Brights eyeliner collection for as long as I can. The color selection is bright and fun, and with precise tips, you can create any look that you desire. This allows for your artistic creativity to flow when you apply the eyeliner and the colors stay on pretty well, because of the bold pigments. It does, however, smell like paint and when wiping it off. It comes off in chunks, so it could be a little uncomfortable for some, but with the payoff of color and the ease of applying, this product is worth it.

ColourPop Fresh Kiss Hydrating Lip Creme: 

12 out of 16 colors of the Fresh Kiss collection. Six colors do not show up on Ulta’s website, however, ColourPop’s website has all 16 offered. 

This is usually my go-to lipstick. It is soft, buttery, and easy to apply. The colors are stunning and offer a wide range for many different skin tones. I have a few shades, but my everyday shade is Strike a Pose, which is described as a “deepend rose” color. It can come off pretty easily, so reapplying will be a common thing, but the color and lightweight of the product makes it worth it in my eyes.

ColourPop is known for their wide variety of pressed powder palettes and collecting them is quite fun. The possibilities are endless when it comes to what you can do with the palettes. The colors are pigmented, they apply easily, and most don’t flake, making these palettes affordable and stylistic.

ColourPop Hydrating Blush Stix:

For me, blush is usually hard to find, since I’m a very pale person. Most blushes flush out my skin tone, but the ColourPop Blush Stix compliments my face and has a decent variety of colors to match your skin tone. The application is smooth and buttery, and though it may take a few minutes to blend, the color sticks well and doesn’t budge. This is a good blush to invest in if you’re looking for a lightweight, creamy blush.

Allure’s 2021 Best of Beauty winner. 

With 31 colors to choose from, about-face, has taken the world by storm, and has especially captivated me. The brand created by singer, Halsey, has many products including eye paints. This product offers fun and expressive colors that you can use in a variety of ways. This product is difficult to apply without primer and can be tough to remove at times, but once you get used to it, you’ll have tons of fun playing around with this product!

This primer is an essential if you plan on buying the Fluid Matte Eye Paint from about-face beauty. The application is easy and lightweight, and dries pretty fast, allowing you to jump right into playing around with makeup. It also allows the Fluid Eye Paint to come off easier. It’s easy to use and allows the color of the eye paint to pop on your eyelids.
