Have you just been itching to get away and explore a place you’ve never been before? Well, here is your chance. Netflix’s new Original Series, “Emily in Paris,” can take you traipsing through the winding streets of Paris, eating crepes by the Eiffel Tower and strolling along the Seine. However, as you follow Emily, played by Lily Collins, along her journey in Paris, you might just get caught up in some drama, so be prepared! From the scary boss to the cute neighbor, who may or may not be available, “Emily in Paris” does a wonderful job of combining humor, drama, and romance into the perfect show for bingeing. This show is your chance to get lost in French parties, high-fashion, and drama…a whole lot of drama.

While a bit cliché, with the young American woman from Chicago living out a dream in Paris, the comedy and drama really do make for a fun watch. And, you don’t have to wait long for the drama to start, as Emily starts off as a bit of a pariah at the Parisian marketing company she’s working at. It’s her job to act as the “American eyes” for her marketing company back in Chicago, and the rest of her coworkers are not a fan. Emily’s boss, Sylvie, played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, will immediately give you Miranda Priestley vibes from “The Devil Wears Prada”; Sylvie is not to be tested and right off the bat she is not a fan of Emily and her American perspectives. As you watch Emily balance her work life, romance, her besties, and her dire need to learn French, you will feel for her, but you’ll also want to be her.

There were two parts of the show that really made it for me – the fashion and the besties. If there is one thing this show truly succeeds at, it’s the ability to make every outfit Emily wears, something I need in my own closet. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can afford the Louboutins or Chanel bags Emily carries around, but I can definitely pretend to live out my dream as Emily lives hers while I watch the show. Emily is not the only one to strut her sense of style, but the two friends she makes along the way, Mindy and Camille, continue to add to the fashionable, Parisian scene. These three friends will not only show you what it’s like to have fun living in Paris, but they’ll also create the perfect opening for some added drama. Just watch, and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

Whether you want to travel to Paris, or fall in love, this show gives you the opportunity to do both. I definitely recommend getting cozy by yourself or some friends and bingeing this bad boy over a weekend. It will take you away from any worries and restlessness you feel from being stuck in one place for so long and it’ll bring you on a lighthearted journey to The City of Love. But be warned, this show will leave you wanting to get yourself to Paris as soon as you can, so be careful.
