It’s no secret to anyone that knows me that I mainly listen to country music. I spent a decent chunk of my summer going to country concerts, which included a trip to Nashville for CMA Fest. As we move into fall, there are plenty of classic songs and new music in the genre that are perfect additions to your playlists. Whether you’re on your way to the apple orchard or online shopping for your Halloween costume, these are some of the country songs that you should be listening to this season.
Fall = football season, and even though my allegiances lie with Notre Dame, Conner Smith’s song may convert me into a Tennessee fan. Any of Smith’s songs are worth playing over and over again, but this one just encapsulates the start of weekend tailgating for the big game and how even the biggest sports rivalries can’t stand in the way of the best relationships.
Yet another song from Conner Smith. I’m not kidding when I say his music is good for any time of the year. And since I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him, I can say that the heart and passion you feel in every one of his songs isn’t fake. Fall is such a special season when you’re in college, and this song is the perfect way to celebrate that.
This song has been all over TikTok lately, and for a good reason. It’s insanely catchy, and I feel like I get something new out of the song after each listen. A cozy fall evening is the perfect setting to blast this song, and it’s particularly special when you take the time to digest every lyric.
This is a new one from Parker McCollum and, in my opinion, it’s an amazing song. It reminds me of country songs I’ve grown up loving but refreshed and updated. It’s a very good addition to any country playlist, especially this season.
Another Tennessee Football related song, this is one I found while I was scrolling through TikTok. Moroney’s voice hooks you in right away, and the melody in this song will have you singing it in your head subconsciously as you sip on your pumpkin spice latte.
A country playlist of mine is not complete without at least one Luke Bryan song. Any of his songs are perfect for year-long listening, but this one in particular just captures the essence of what it means to be country, even if I am a Chicago girl through and through.
I feel like both of these artists are super underrated, even though they both have great storytelling abilities. That’s why when I stumbled across this song, I was absolutely thrilled that they decided to collaborate. Their voices mesh so well together, and they handle the topic of missing someone so in such a delicate manner.
As soon as you hear the words “It was the 14th of October,” you immediately recognize this song if you’ve heard it once before. Not only does the opening of the song give a nod to autumn, but it’s also a classic that I turn to time and time again. It’s upbeat, it’s fun and it’s the kind of song that never gets old and you can’t stop playing it.
This is the second song from Zach Bryan that I would recommend, and that’s for a good reason. Zach Bryan has some of the best examples of songs that just scream “fall” to me. For reasons I can’t explain, this song just gives me goosebumps, which is reason enough for you to look it up and see for yourself.
Carly Pearce will forever and always be a queen of country in my eyes. I adore her and her story and her music, so it would feel like a sin to not include something of hers on this list. This song is so underrated, and a hidden gem on one of my favorite country albums of all time.
If I was lucky to be in a relationship at this time of year, I definitely picture dancing with that special someone in front of a bonfire on an autumn night with this song playing in the background. Underwood’s powerful voice is mesmerizing, and it’s such a pretty song.
I could easily list more than 10 songs, but these are definitely some of the top picks that I recommend you check out this fall! Hopefully, you love them just as much as I do.
