Fashionistas flocked to one of the most fashion-savvy and garment-eccentric cities in the world for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2016. The designers displayed their pre-fall collections and gave all of us fashion lovers some major inspiration for the months ahead. While looking through various street-style photographs and designer look-books, I acquired some insight into what is trending now and what we can expect to see a few months from now. Check out my list of what was seen at one of the most fashionable weeks of the year and see what you can start adding to your closet for the fall season:

Crisp White and Minimalist Pieces
Although the weather was filled with rain, snow, and chilly winds, fashionistas from across the nation rocked the street-style section with dynamic, and minimalistic pieces that reflected a mere spring day. Loving the crisp white hues and the soft, yet structured minimalistic qualities in these looks.
Shearling-Lined Jackets
Denim and leather jackets are getting an upgrade this season with many designers adding a shearling lining to the inside of the pieces. This trend was seen styled on the streets and on the runway many different ways: from an edgy rocker vibe to being draped over a floral dress, shearling-lined jackets were definitely on trend.
Slip Dresses
The slip dress has definitely taken a transformative turn in the world of fashion. What was once deemed as an under-garment has now been brought to the surface. Several designers incorporated the slip dress into their pre-fall collection, telling us that this iconic staple is here to stay (and slay).
Print Mixing (Cheetah print making a re-appearance?)
There were some prominent prints visible during NYFW; fashionistas swooned over the use of color and pattern in every single ensemble. One main pattern that seemed to surface was the beloved cheetah print. Both designers and street stylers displayed this print in several looks during fashion week.
Blue hues
Several street style looks donned this beautiful hue throughout the week; it made me want to buy everything that is carried in this rich, and dynamic blue color. I absolutely love the sharp contrast it gives to an otherwise minimal outfit.
Fringe
Fringe definitely made an appearance during NYFW, mostly seen flirting with jackets and handbags. I am really into this boho-eccentric trend and love that it is sticking around for another season.
