Valentine’s Day. Only the best and most romantic day of the year…if you’re in a relationship. If not or your significant other can’t be with you, then it’s just another dreadful day with everyone pushing their love and happiness in our faces.
I’ve been lucky enough to be dating the same guy for 3 years. This Valentine’s Day will be our 4th together but 1st apart. Honestly, it’s going to be really weird not spending the day with him. Spending the day watching movies and cuddling and getting dinner at Outback was always our thing on Valentine’s Day. This year we’ll be lucky if we can even FaceTime without the connection being bad.
Although I don’t have my boyfriend with me this year, I still have some really great people to keep me company. Thank God for my roommate and her wanting to spend the day eating ice cream and watching terrible romance movies with me.
If you’re going to be like me this Valentine’s Day and are nervous that you’ll feel alone or just want something to do, here’s a list of the top 10 things that I will most likely be doing with my friends:
1) Binge watch (and make fun of) romance movies
Nothing says “Happy Valentine’s Day” like some cheesy romance movies
2) Eat tons of food but not regret it
FYI Portillo’s has heart shaped cakes that they are selling for about $15
3) Have a little craft session
Grab some markers and colored pencils and go to town
4) Watch some David Dobrik vlogs
Nothing puts a smile on my face like David Dobrik and the vlog squad
5) Order some Insomnia cookies
Cookies and chocolate fix everything
6) Do some face masks
Some self-care is always a must especially if you’re feeling lonely
7) Text my besties and make sure they’re also feeling the love
Always got to make sure my best girls are feeling their very best
8) Catch up on sleep
Let’s be honest, sleep is the cure to anything
9) Treat myself aka online shopping
Kylie cosmetics always has a sale for lip kits!
10) Go to the gym
Probably my least favorite option but working out always makes me feel better
Even though you might not have a significant other or they can’t be with you, you can still have a great Valentine’s Day. Don’t take for granted the people around you. Have fun with them and celebrate the love that you have for them; Valentine’s Day isn’t only for relationships, it can also be for friendships.
