If you haven’t seen The White Lotus yet, once you start watching you won’t be able to stop. From creative director Mike White, The White Lotus unveils the many complications with society today. With themes of money, sex and power, you can imagine how complicated these characters can be. To see which character you relate to most based on your sun sign, check below!
Aries: Valentina
Aries are known to be natural-born leaders with short tempers, which perfectly describes the character of Valentina in The White Lotus. When Valentina wants something, she will take down anyone to get it. Despite her hard exterior, she is sensitive and caring for the few people she enjoys having around. Just as an Aries would be, she is competitive and passionate about what she does. She tells it like it is, like how Tanya’s “Monica Vitti” was giving … Peppa Pig.
Taurus: Lucia
With her direct and alluring disposition, Lucia caught the eyes of many of those staying at The White Lotus resort. The young Italian escort is brave, clever and won’t stop until she gets what she wants from the men she serves. Many of the characters found Lucia to be an escape from their demanding lives, when in reality her involvement made it much more complicated. Lucia values the things that make her feel good, not the sex that she had, but the luxurious goods that came from it. Taureans are often self-proclaimed “Material Girls” and will stop at nothing to achieve the life that they dream of.
Gemini: Daphne Sullivan
Easygoing and personable, Daphne is the epitome of the Gemini woman. She is well-articulated about her hyper-positive view on life, despite its trials and tribulations. Though she appears as naive to her husband’s discrepancies, her character is greatly aware of others’ inner views and behaviors. Some can see through her highly excitable presence toward how she may truly feel about her life and relationship with Cameron. She is highly adaptable and can find joy in anything she does with those around her. You can see Daphne interact with many guests at the resort, strangers or friends, with a great amount of compassion and joy.
Cancer: Albie Di Grasso
As the innocent “nice guy” of the season, Albie is a self-proclaimed feminist and desperately wants to be given the opportunity to treat a woman right. Many Cancer men are known to be protective and good-hearted, just like Albie. After his short-lived fling with Portia, he is introduced to his father’s past paid lover Lucia in search of some love. Albie’s naivety and good heart cause him to fall for Lucia and her lies and decides to give her the money she so desperately needs. Poor Albie.
Leo: Bert Di Grasso
As the fan favorite of the White Lotus characters, Bert Di Grasso has the charm, heart and confidence that make a fierce Leo. In nearly every scene, this character is found to be flirting with any and every woman near him. He doesn’t believe that his age should define him by any means, and still considers himself a handsome man worthy of a young woman’s time. He is warm-hearted and generous to everyone, especially those he admires. Bert loves to be the center of attention and appreciates good entertainment, such as Mia the pianist who played at dinner.
Virgo: Ethan Spiller
With his shy yet practical self, Ethan was found to have many qualities that align with the sign of Virgo. As he often kept his opinions to himself at The White Lotus, Ethan was grounded and observant of those around him, especially Cameron. He values his alone time and healthy lifestyle, taking runs in the early Sicily mornings each day. When presented with the opportunity to cheat on his wife, he chooses not to which shows his loyalty to her despite their marital problems. Virgos are known to be loyal, kind and analytical, just as Ethan has proven to be. After Harper claimed nothing had happened when alone with Cameron, Ethan dissects every part of the story and makes sense of her lie.
Libra: Portia
From the start of her time at the resort, Portia was viewed as a burden by Tanya and was expected to make herself scarce. Many fans also found Portia to be an annoyance, mainly due to her awkwardness and interesting fashion choices. However, she also serves as the most relatable character in The White Lotus, as she is not as affluent as the rest of the characters and has a strong opinion about the right and just. As a Libra would, she was flirty with multiple characters in the show and often pitied herself for being stuck in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Scorpio: Harper Spiller
Coming to The White Lotus, Harper was skeptical about spending a week’s vacation with a couple whose dynamic she didn’t understand. She felt reassured that her marriage was better than that of Cameron and Daphne. Harper was calculated in her questioning of Ethan after their night away from each other. As a scorned Scorpio would, Harper chose to believe that Ethan had cheated on her, despite his pleading, and leveled the playing field. It is not confirmed that Harper and Cameron hooked up while Ethan’s back was turned, but we can assume that something had to have happened.
Sagittarius: Cameron Sullivan
Fiery, flighty and untamed Cameron is the embodiment of the Sagittarius man. He is extremely confident in his abilities and opinions and welcomes a challenge in any situation. Cameron is the life of the party and needs every event to center all of its attention on him and him only. He is competitive and believes being condescending to others will make him appear to be the better man. Cameron needs his freedom and his restlessness which causes him to stray away from his wife and family.
Capricorn: Dominic Di Grasso
The entirety of the season, Dominic tried convincing his wife to forgive him for his past infidelities, while still cheating on her with Lucia at the beginning of the season. We see him progress as he refuses to cheat on his wife for the rest of the trip and focuses on bettering himself to get her back. Dominic often appears as nonchalant and critical of himself and others, like many Capricorns. He is hard-working and understands the value of his money, using it in many instances to get what he wants.
Aquarius: Jack
The free-thinker and reckless lover of Portia, who is mysteriously associated with Quentin, gives Aquarian energy. Jack doesn’t enjoy anything remotely serious and values having the most fun he can, no matter how dangerous. In his deep conversation with Portia, he has a unique view of having gratitude for life and not focusing so much on its complex politics. As an Aquarius would, Jack hates boring parties and would rather do something like dine-n-dash just for fun.
Pisces: Tanya, of course
The most iconic character throughout the series is most definitely Tanya. Portrayed by the queen herself, Jennifer Coolidge, this character loves to dream and hates criticism of any kind. She is compassionate, though naive in her romantic endeavors, which is seen in her relationship with Greg. She welcomes people of all kinds, especially the Gays, and loves flattery. *SPOILER* she may have faced her fate in the Mediterranean sea, though not so gracefully, as a water sign would.
With a wide assortment of complex characters, I am sure everyone can see parts of themselves in these characters. The many challenges, viewpoints and lifestyles of these characters must have resonated with you on some level.
