If you’re in need of music to listen to during your walk to class, then you’ve come to the right place! Here’s a list of some of my current favorites that I’ve been listening to nonstop — I hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do!
1. “Preacher Man” – The Driver Era
This song is one of my all time favorites. If you’ve never heard of The Driver Era, it’s because it’s a new band consisting of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch. These two aren’t limiting themselves to create music that fits a specific genre, which results in each song having a different sound. What’s even better is that they’re planning on releasing new music soon that you should definitely look out for!
2. “Fade Out” – James Bay
James Bay has grown so much as an artist (he’s even touring with Ed Sheeran this year!), and this song has to be one of the best from his new album. If you’re in the mood for pop, you’ll love this song and have it stuck in your head all day.
3. “Talk” – Liv Dawson
Liv Dawson is an up-and-coming artist from London who has an upbeat sound and should definitely be more well-known, so go listen to her!
4. “Heavy” – POWERS
I first heard this song while watching the Netflix show, You. Not only is this song great to listen to on your walk to class, it’s great to play during a workout as well.
5. “Sleep Talking” – Charlotte Lawrence
This song has a classic pop feel to it, but it also weaves in a slight dark twist that I love — go listen!
6. “Ralphie” – Post Animal
Post Animal is a Chicago-based psychedelic rock band whose members include Stranger Things’ Joe Keery. If that isn’t enough to get you to check out this band, then I don’t know what is.
7. “I Hate This” – Tenille Arts
I discovered this song when the singer performed on The Bachelor. For someone who typically doesn’t like country music, it’s safe to say that I kept replaying this song for days straight without getting sick of it.
8. “You” – Mk.Gee
This is a super relaxed song that’s great for when you’re walking across the Quad and want something chill to listen to. I had never heard of this artist previously, but I’m glad that I stumbled upon this song when looking for new music on Spotify.
9. “Girlfriend” – Bea Miller
Bea Miller was a contestant on The X-Factor, and she just came out with a new album last year that is worth listening to! At only 20 years old, it’s very easy to relate to her music.
10. “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” – The 1975
Despite The 1975 often having slow, melancholic music, this song is anything but that. It’s upbeat but is accompanied by lyrics with a darker undertone, and I love listening to it while doing homework.
