5 Clothing Items To Revamp Your Wardrobe This Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Although Spring Fashion Week has passed, it’s not too late to catch up on the new spring fashion trends! Revamp your spring fashion wardrobe with five essential items every girl needs in their closet. Not only are these items cute and comfy, but they also won’t break the bank. End this school year with style and glamour!

The Jean Dress

From casual coffee runs to shopping with the girls, the jean dress is the perfect spring wardrobe item. Comfy and cute, the jean dress is the best look if you’re going for something that you can wear from day to night. Offered in a variety of shades and designs, girls of all body types can find one that suits them. The lace up detail on the jean dress pictured above dresses it up without overdoing the look. Pair with some slip-on tennis shoes or sandals and you’re ready to start the day!

Funky Florals

Nothing screams spring more than a floral dress! The small v neck and circle detail break up the dress’s floral pattern without showing too much skin. My favorite detail on this dress is the pockets. This dress is perfect for weekend festivities or just a nice spring day. Avoid chunky jewelry and shoes and let the pattern do the talking!

The Off-the-Shoulder Top

If you don’t have an off-the-shoulder top by now, it is definitely something you need to invest in. Off-the-shoulder tops have been all the rave lately, and spring is the perfect time to show off your spring glow. Go for a printed off-the-shoulder top like the one pictured to the left if you’re going for a dressier or flashier look. If you want a more understated look, try buying an off-the-shoulder top that complements your eyes and hair color. This is one purchase you won’t regret!

More Stripes Please

Strips are a print that never goes out of style! As pictured above, you can find stripes on almost any item of clothing. Striped pants are so fashion-forward and slimming. A striped skirt is great for a business casual function. If you don’t usually wear stripes, try going for a simple striped shirt that you can pair with basic jeans. The only piece of advice I have for wearing strips is to pair them with a plain top or bottom, either white, jean, or khaki colored. Regardless, stripes can be very slimming and complement just about every skin and hair color. Make stripes your new staple item!

Hip Hats

Retire your winter beanies and try something new this season! The swede hat pictured above is a classic twist on the baseball cap and is offered in neutral colors such as blush that go with just about everything. The straw hat pictured above is a perfect size for most face shapes and the bow adds some unique detailing. Not only are these hats easy to throw on with any outfit, but they’re also the perfect accessory for a bad hair day.
