Comeback Kings and Queens of 2013

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Illinois chapter.

Since the world didn’t end in 2012, some celebrities have decided it’s time to make a comeback. Some have been gone longer than others, but all are planning on taking 2013 by storm. Check out the stars that have had enough time off and are ready to get back in the spotlight!

Justin Timberlake

He’s been all over the big screen (thank the Lord) but he’s been MIA from the music scene for quite some time. With the release of his new song “Suit and Tie,” the newlywed is ready to bless us with his music once again. Timberlake is ready for a comeback, and you can bet he’ll be bringing sexy back with him.

Cassie

She took over the radio in 2006 with some pretty risqué songs (that I shouldn’t have been singing in junior high but was), and she’s about to release her first album in seven years. After teaming up with Nicki Minaj on her song “The Boys,” it’s clear Cassie’s still got it and will be flaunting it again soon.

Jesse McCartney

The “Beautiful Soul” heartthrob has been in and out of the spotlight since 2004, but he is scheduled to have some serious highs in 2013. After starring in last year’s horror film Chernobyl Diaries, McCartney wrapped up another film called Campus Life, which is set for release this February. In March, he will star in 11 episodes of Lifetime’s Army Wives, and he’s also scheduled to release a new album this year after a four-year break from music.

Miley Cyrus

We haven’t really stopped hearing about her because well, she’s Miley Cyrus, but let’s be honest, she hasn’t really been doing anything. This year, however, she’s getting back to work. She’s covering the February issue of Cosmopolitan and getting ready to release her first album since “Can’t Be Tamed” in 2010. Miley may be engaged, but she’s not ready to settle down; she’s just getting started again.

With all these big album releases in 2013 I expect to be dancing for the rest of the year and am starting to look forward to listening to the radio again. Time to start asking for some iTunes gift cards!
