Getting up early in college isn’t easy. But if you can create an early morning routine for yourself, you can be productive and get your day off to a great start. Check out these ideas to add to your routine!
Wake Up
Pick the time when you want to get up and set an alarm. Choose an alarm that will wake you up slowly rather than jolting you awake. This will help to ease you into your morning.
Also, try to resist the temptation to hit snooze. It’s not an easy task but it can be done. If you need help getting up, try leaving your blinds open so that the sun can help to act as a natural alarm clock.
Clean Up
Wash your face with some cool water to help wake yourself up. Then, make your bed. Making your bed helps to get you in the right mentality for your day and can make your disorganized life feel a little more organized.
Get Moving
Getting some form of exercise when you wake up will help to start your day off right. Do what exercise suits you the best. Going to the ARC for some intense cardio might be the calling for some, but if you’re more of a yoga person do some yoga at home before you head out. Or, if exercise in itself seems just too daunting, try doing some stretches to get your blood moving. Just listen to what your body needs and go from there!
Breakfast
Everyone hears that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” their whole life. So, listen to the age-old saying and make yourself a good breakfast. It doesn’t have to be anything too elaborate, something like yogurt and granola can be a quick and healthy breakfast. If that’s not your thing, make something with protein which will give you energy and keep you full throughout the rest of your day.
Set Goals
Figure out what you have to get done that day and make a quick plan on how to get that done. If that’s too overwhelming, pick one thing that you want to accomplish that day, like finally finishing that advertising project. Or, just pick a mentality that you want to have for the day, like trying to be more positive. That way you have a clear idea of what you want that day to bring.
