Halloween is coming up and what better way to celebrate than with a festive drink. Although your celebrations may look different this year, try these devilishly delicious drinks to get you in the Halloween spirit. Both cocktails and mocktails included, drink up, you 21+ witches!
Black Magic Margaritas
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. black sanding sugar
2 c. ice
4oz. silver tequila
2 oz. triple sec
½ c. lime juice
Red food coloring
Blue food coloring
Green food coloring
Lime slices to garnish
Directions:
- Rim 2 glasses with a lime slice & dip in black sanding sugar
- Divide tequila, triple sec, and lime juice between 2 glasses and stir until combined. Add food coloring until the desired level of black is achieved
- Add ice and garnish with a slice of lime before serving
Hocus Pocus Punch *mocktail*
Ingredients:
- 6 cups apple cider
- 2 cups cranberry juice
- 2 (12 ounces) cans orange seltzer
- ¼ cup maraschino cherry juice
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 2 apples, sliced
- 1/3 cup maraschino cherries
- 1 cup ginger ale or ginger beer
Directions:
- Combine the apple cider, juice, orange seltzer, ginger ale and maraschino cherry juice in a pitcher or large bowl
- Add the cherries, orange slices and apple slices
- Stir and serve!
*Add the alcohol of your choice to make this a cocktail!
Poison Apple cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
- 2 oz. Crown royal apple
- 3/4 cups cranberry juice
- 1 oz. grenadine
- Edible Glitter
Directions:
- Add Ice to your cocktail shaker
- Measure and pour in all ingredients
- Shake the cocktail shaker at least 30 seconds
- Pour the cocktail
- Enjoy!
Dracula’s Blood cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces white rum
- 3/4 ounces peach schnapps
- 3 ounces black cherry juice (we use R.W. Knudsen Just Black Cherry)
- 2 teaspoons Grenadine
- Fresh cherries, maraschino cherries, and/or plastic vampire teeth for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Place rum, peach schnapps, black cherry juice, and Grenadine in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake for about 10 seconds to mix and chill.
- Strain into a martini glass.
- Drop in a set of plastic vampire teeth and garnish with a fresh or maraschino cherry, if desire.
- Enjoy!
Black Magic Jello Shots
(mocktail version included!)
Supplies:
24 plastic cups on a baking sheet
Black Sanding sugar
Ingredients:
Blue Layer
- 3 ounces Berry Blue Jello mix(1/2 cup powder mix)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup vodka (or white grape juice for mocktail)
Purple Layer
- 3 ounces Berry Blue Jello mix(1/2 cup powder mix)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup vodka (or white grape juice for mocktail)
Directions:
- Place all 24 plastic cups on a baking sheet or on your serving plate, for easy transport. Leave the lids off the cups.
Blue Layer:
- Place the Jello mix powder in a medium mixing bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water to the powder and whisk to combine until the powder is dissolved.
- Add the cold water and vodka. Whisk to combine.
- Fill each plastic cup halfway full with blue jello. Place the cups in the fridge and chill until the jello is just about set, about 45 mins.
Purple Layer:
- Place the Jello mix powder in a medium mixing bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water to the powder and whisk to combine until the powder is dissolved.
- Add the cold water and vodka. Whisk to combine.
- Remove the plastic cups from the fridge and carefully pour the purple jello over the blue jello, to create layers, filling each cup the rest of the way.
- Return the jello cups to the fridge and chill until completely set (at least 1-2 hours)
Finishing:
- Remove the jello cups from the fridge, and sprinkle the top of each shot with black sugar. You don’t want to completely mask the purple, but there should be a good layer of sugar.
- Place a lid on each cup and refrigerate the shots until ready to serve!
