As the weather gets warmer, it becomes time to pack away the thick fleece-lined leggings and switch it up for denim. There’s nothing that screams springtime more than a light-wash denim jean and a flowy top. As spring comes around, the fashion runways have been dominated by all things denim. But, it’s not just your average pair of jeans or jean shirt, they’re all revamped to have a unique spin. You might think, how does one pull off the fashion runway look everyday? Well, here are four ways you can incorporate unconventional denim pieces into your wardrobe.
1. The New Denim Jacket: This might look like the denim jacket that’s hanging up in your closet, but there’s a little personal touch. Lately many jackets have been revamped with iron-on 3D fabric stickers or even paint splattered all over. You don’t have to buy a jacket like this in stores–you can make a DIY jean jacket that’s one of a kind and personal to your style. These jackets are incredibly effortless to style; just throw it on your favorite outfit and you’re set! (Don’t worry, denim on denim isn’t a fashion crime anymore!)
2. Spice Up Your Average Jean: Similarly to the jean jacket, you can change up your jeans by adding a personal twist! There are so many iron-on 3D fabric stickers in the market nowadays, so you’re only an iron away from recycling your plain pair of jeans into something that could be found on the runway! These jeans can be the main part of your outfit if you wear it along with something as simple as a white t-shirt.
3. Not Your Average Denim Shirt: Everyone’s seen the denim shirt in any store they go to. In fact, it’s a known staple in many fashion it-girl’s closets. This spring, why not go a different route with the denim shirt? There are now tops that have a collage of different denim fabrics (as seen in the image above) or maybe even a denim shirt that’s made to look like your average t-shirt. This year, it’s all about changing the old into the new and being daring with your look, so don’t be afraid to try a different take on an old staple!
4. Going Back To Basics: I bet everyone remembers wearing a pair of denim overalls when they were younger. Why not take a trip down memory lane and incorporate them into your outfit now? While they may seem a little childish, so many celebrities and fashion designers have been wearing the classic denim overalls (whether it be shorts, pants, or skirts) and rocking it. With this piece, you would only have to care about what type of shirt you have to wear underneath, and you’re set! Pair the outfit with a pair of your favorite sneakers, boots, or sandals and it’s revamped to fit your 20-something style!
