Now that it is officially the season of love, it’s time to learn all about the best rom-coms that there ever was. I am a movie fanatic and romantic comedies happen to be one of my all-time favorite genres. Trust me, I am a seasoned expert in this realm and have watched these and countless others. So, sit back, relax and learn about the must-see movies for the month of February.
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days
Keeping it classic, it only makes sense that I start off with the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Hilarious yet sweet, this film stars rom-com extraordinaires, Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. This pair’s insane chemistry in conjunction with the 10/10 soundtrack makes this movie top tier. Amongst the most notable artists featured are Sixpence None the Richer, Carly Simon, Keith Urban, Chantal Kreviazu, and more! Not to mention, the stunning fashion that to this day is an inspiration for millions of women everywhere. This is a movie you just need to see to get the full effect… go stream it on Hulu right now!!!
27 Dresses
Sticking to the basics, 27 Dresses is the it-girl of rom-coms. Starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden, this is the shining star of early 2000s classics. The lead character, Jane, just wants to have her moment after standing up as a bridesmaid in 27 different weddings. After meeting writer, Kevin, at one of the receptions, the two grow closer as he writes an article on Jane’s sister’s upcoming wedding. This is the ultimate movie with all of the essential components: navigating love in your 20s, being a supportive friend, and coming to terms with who you are.
13 Going On 30
I can’t write an article all about the best rom-coms without adding in 13 Going on 30. Jennifer Gardner plays the lead role as Jenna who wakes up on her 13th birthday as a 30-year-old woman navigating New York as a writer for a highly regarded fashion magazine. Without this movie, where else would we get the iconic, “thirty, flirty and thriving,” quote that is used in nearly every freshly 30-year-old’s Instagram caption? The film also stars Mark Ruffalo as Jenna’s childhood best friend who is a small-time photographer in the city. That’s all I can share without giving too much away… so go watch the rest of the movie ASAP!
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about some of the best movies in the game. While treating yourself this Valentine’s season, don’t forget to turn on one of these lovely features (or your personal favorite rom-com). Thanks again for trusting me to be your movie connoisseur!
P.S.
Can you tell that I love early 2000s movies? 😉
