It seems as if the world is in a current standstill as the COVID-19 pandemic worsens. Fashion may not be the number one thing on your mind at the moment, but thinking of cute outfits to wear in the near future is a good way to take your mind off of things. Prepare yourself to look good AF for when quarantine is over! Here are a few trends you have to get your hands on this spring.

1. In Tier

Yes, your mother might have dressed you in ruffled dresses when you were five years old and yes, it’s totally appropriate to wear ruffles now at 20 years old. “In tier” simply means ruffles that tier down the piece of clothing in rows. This is such a feminine look that can be pulled off for weddings, graduation parties or just for fun! This trend is perfect for that dainty, spring-time look. Go for pastel colors to vibe with the current season.

2. Statement Earrings

We all know that earrings can complete any look, but it’s time to get bold. Take that boring all-black outfit and pair it with a set of bright yellow earrings. Boom! Your outfit went from zero to hero. Even if you’re not wearing a solid color, that’s fine, still wear some earrings that pop. Some examples of “bold” earrings may include bright colors, textures, materials, lengths, or designs. My personal favorite pair of statement earrings are bright red hoops wrapped in thread with crazy tassels dangling off the bottom. A few retailers to check out for statement earrings include, but are not limited to, Target, ASOS and Forever 21.

3. Vintage (A.K.A. Your Mom’s Closet)

On a budget? Not a problem! Hit up your mother’s closet to put together an edgy look for spring. Your mom might have saved her clothes that were popular in the 70s, 80s, 90s…whatever decade it may be. Trends repeat themselves… remember that! Stores all over the world are selling clothes that reflect trends from decades ago. Why pay money for “vintage” clothing when they’re just collecting dust in your parents’ closet? Think smarter, not harder.

4. Gender Neutral Street Style

Thankfully in 2020 we can mostly wear what we want without people batting an eye. In recent years, gender neutral clothing has become more popular and acceptable. A lot of fashion shows have displayed women wearing baggier clothing, suits, suit-shorts and sweatpants. Even Billie Eilish has contributed to this trend. Your options are endless for a gender neutral look. Head over to Harry Styles’ or Billie Eilish’s Instagram for more inspiration.

Hopefully out of all of these ideas you found something that speaks to you. Take a break out of your quarantine routine to daydream about all the outfits you could wear after it’s safe to go about our normal lives again.
