Frozen
This year it’s estimated that about 2.6 million children will dress up as a character from the Disney movie Frozen. If you go with Snow Queen Elsa or you have your heart set on Olaf the snowman, you will definitely be on trend this Halloween. Who says college students can’t rock a costume based off a children’s movie? Take this 2014 hit and don’t be afraid to let it go and make it PG-13. Perfect the Olaf look with a white leotard and thigh-highs.
Jimmy Fallon’s “Ew!” Sara
If you haven’t seen Jimmy Fallon’s Ew! skits, you need to head to YouTube right now. “It’s S-A-R-A with no H, because H’s are ew!” To top off the Sara look, wear a sparkly purple dress with pink tights and a tiara. There have also been guest appearances from Zac Efron, Channing Tatum and even Taylor Swift. If you want to reenact the Ew! skits with your friends this Halloween, you can all choose a different celebrity to dress up as. Don’t forget her stepdad Gary, ew!
Ice Bucket Challenge
The ice bucket challenge has been trending on social media over the year. Becoming more and more popular, it obviously earned itself a Halloween costume. Put some gel in your hair and smudge your makeup to make it seem like you just poured a bucket of ice water on your head! Don’t forget the ice cube trays as a necklace and be sure to carry around a bucket all night. This one will be a guaranteed hit!
Sharknado
The original Sharknado film was something no one was expecting and I definitely don’t think anyone expected Sharknado 2 to come out in 2014. So why not play it up! Create this adorable Halloween costume with white and blue tulle wrapped around your body as the “tornado”. Add in plastic toy sharks and finish it off with cordless Christmas lights!
Emoji dancing girls
I think by now you can tell your favorite and most used emoji’s. One of mine is definitely the dancing girls. Grab your best friend and your black leotard to hit the streets! This is a great last minute costume because all you need is a black leotard, two black hair bows and black heels or flats. Now just be sure to stay in this position all night!
Grumpy Cat
Everyone knows Grumpy Cat, the world’s grumpiest cat! “I had fun once, it was awful”. If you’re up for a funny night, Grumpy Cat is perfect. You can switch up your outfit on however you think a cat would dress, but make this look you have to do the face makeup. Cat eats and gloves are a great touch too. Make your own saying and carry around the sign all night!
Pharrell Williams
Pharrell and his hat, what more can you say? If you can find the perfect hat, you basically nailed the costume. You don’t need much more than an adidas jacket to complete his look.
Unicorn
To dress up as a unicorn this Halloween, the possibilities are endless! All you really need is a basic unicorn horn. Buy a premade headband or make your own out of a party hat! A tutu and some rainbow is a great touch. You can add in unicorn ears and a tail too, now decide pink, purple or blue?
Lorde
Lorde doesn’t make it too hard to feel royal this Halloween. Just pick out your favorite black ensemble and find the darkest shade of lipstick in your drawer. Channel your inner goth through the clothing and add a big brimmed hat for a final touch.
Iggy Azalea
Feeling fancy this Halloween? Iggy is your go-to. The costume ideas are endless from recreating her yellow plaid skirt and blazer from the Fancy music video, or the rebel cheerleading costume she wore performing with Ariana Grande.
