I am a definite lover of photography. For years, I had only a small digital camera to work with and was not able to get the quality of shots I desired while out and about. However, once I finally got my hands on a brand new Canon t2i Rebel, I realized that lugging it around with its multiple lenses, external flashes and case was less than desirable.
For the past week, I have been visiting my brother in New York City. While I have used my Canon SLR to capture most landscapes and far away shots, I have found that my new iPhone with its Instagram capabilities has been perfect for taking photos in cafés, restaurants, and some outdoor shots. No need to waste time digging out my heavy SLR camera for each photo.
NYC is my favorite place in the world. I hope to one day live and work in this city. While I have only been here a few days, the photos I have taken will remain with me, saved in my phone, and serve as inspiration as I work toward my goal of one day being a journalist in the Big Apple. Setting your phone background to your favorite shots can also provide the same feelings of happiness you had while traveling, long after your stay.
If you are like me, sharing pictures with those close to you brings joy to your day. With just a single image, others can understand what you’ve experienced without having to say much at all. They are forever keepsakes that will remain with you for life. However, if you usually dread the daunting task of uploading hundreds of photos after a tiring week of traveling, using Instagram makes uploading pictures even easier.
While you are out and about, simply take photos and upload them to Facebook and twitter on the spot! During my week in NYC, my friends and family have enjoyed knowing what I have been up to and don’t feel like a bother calling or texting to get a status update. Instead, they can follow me daily as I traverse the city in any location from Central park, to Brooklyn and Coney Island.
No more time consumed sorting through pictures, trying to find the best ones or complicated editing. Instead, return home with a peace of mind knowing you have already captured your favorite moments and shared them easily with your loved ones.
