Podcasts have become more and more popular throughout the years. Whether you listen to get your daily dose of news, murder mysteries, or pop culture, podcasts are slowly coming back as a popular outlet. With so many to choose from, though, how to find the ones that work best for you? Here are my personal top five favorites for the everyday woman. Coming in at number one we have Candid Confidence. I absolutely love this podcast because it teaches women how to channel their inner confidence and gives advice on how to achieve this. What I really like about this podcast is that the host, Leah Pardee, is very blunt and tells it like it is, which I personally appreciate. Coming in at number two we have Call Your Girlfriend. This show is co-hosted by Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman who call each other every week to discuss a variety of topics. What I personally love about this podcast is that their topics vary each week and they are very entertaining. This podcast is really for all women and focuses on a variety interesting topics. Up next at number three we have Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations. What I love about this podcast is that celebrities, in my opinion, turn into real people through these conversations. They talk about life, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. My all- time favorite celebrity guest was Jennifer Lopez because she talked about the importance of loving yourself, which I think we all need to hear every once in a while. If you are a history nerd like me, then you may find you like the podcast Encyclopedia Womannica. In this podcast, it goes deep into women who have changed
our history. Some of the people it covers are Activist Ida B. Wells to Performer Audrey Hepburn. Some of the women who are talked about are very well known, while others the history books forgot to mention. Most of the episodes are relatively short, which is really nice if you’re in a time crunch and want to listen to a quick podcast. Lastly, we have Ted Talks Daily. Now, these aren’t necessarily geared towards women; however, I do believe that some of the episodes are extremely beneficial for women. What I like about this podcast is that it covers quite literally every topic. Even topics that you did not really know existed, but they do. My only problem with this podcast is that some episodes are hit or miss in terms of relevance in everyone’s daily life. I would highly recommend giving this podcast a chance because you never really know what you’ll learn about yourself and about the world.
