“Dress like everyday is a fashion show.”—this quote resonates with Jessica Jimenez, sophomore in apparel, merchandising, and design, when asked what inspires her daily dress.
“My look is very influenced by European style—usually grunge mixed with retro glamour,” Jimenez said.
Jimenez sums up her style as “simple, yet statement making,” which consists of mixing solid pieces with graphic jewelry. Her go-to pieces are skater skirts, cardigans and bold jewelry.
This is one way Jimenez expresses her individuality—her favorite necklaces “incorporate spikes or some kind of interesting detail people don’t normally wear.”
Finding fashion inspiration can often be a challenge living in the Midwest; Jimenez outsources her fashion inspiration from magazines, websites, blogs, movies and traveling. These mediums provide Jimenez with new perspectives and content to base her style off of.
The most important part of any look is confidence. “I top off my style with a positive attitude, it makes any outfit a little brighter,” Jimenez said.
