Friday the 13th was anything but unlucky for 190 fortunate students at Ithaca College. Super-stud Dave Franco and hilarious buddy Chris Mintz-Plasse, formerly known as “McLovin” stopped by Ithaca’s Park School of Communications on Friday, September 13 to kick-off the “Funny or Die” tour. The room was full of energy as the two celebs walked in the back door and embraced in a bro hug as the crowd screamed and shouted “I LOVE YOU DAVE FRANCO.” However, this event wasn’t just for gawking at the subject of most “Man Candy Monday” photos. Franco and Mintz-Plasse lectured students (it was indeed in a lecture hall) about becoming successful by making independent internet videos. As the event was strictly for communication students, they were aiming to inspire and educate about the process of going viral. The hilarious duo, along with a staff panel from “Funny or Die,” showed us 3 short films featuring Dave and Chris. Needless to say, the films did not disappoint. Such films included “You’re So Hot,” “Would You,” and “The Announcement: Dave and Chris Road Trippin’ Across the USA.” All films were undoubtedly hysterical, all homo-eroticism included. However, if you watch or have already seen these videos, you might see how it was a bit awkward to watch with the Dean in the room. But, even with the disturbing, vulgar, inappropriate humor, the Dean of the Park School asked Dave and Chris when they would be returning. She and the students were full of Parkie pride, as this was the only school that “Funny or Die” visited on their tour road trip. Whether or not they end up back on Ithaca soil, their visit will not be forgotten anytime soon.Â
