The end of the spring semester is almost here, and that means that summer is right around the corner! We at Her Campus IC know all you ladies are trying to get fit for summer, and we also know how hard it is to eat healthy on a college campus.
Here are a few ideas for healthy dorm room snacks that you don’t have to feel guilty about:
1. Oranges, Bananas or Apples: You can never go wrong with a piece of fruit! Oranges, bananas and apples have very high levels of vitamin C, which protect you from getting sick when everyone around you is coughing!
Where to buy or pick them up? These are free in the dining halls on campus!
2. Chobani Yogurt: Greek yogurt has the highest protein content out of all yogurt. Chobani comes in a ton of delicious flavors and will curb your hunger. The sweetness of these yogurts will trick your body and taste buds into thinking that you are having dessert!
Where to buy? Mac’s, Freshen’s, IC Square and Sub Connection!
3. Hummus and veggies: If you have a mini-fridge in your room, stock it with this quick, easy, and super nutritious snack. Hummus and veggies taste great and are a great snack if you want something substantial.

4. Rice cakes with jam/jelly: This is a very low calorie and delicious snack that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Make sure you buy jelly or jam made without added sugar – it’s still delicious and only about 10 calories per tablespoon.

5. Popcorn: Yes, popcorn! Popcorn has very few calories if you buy the right kind. Next time you are scanning the shelves, snag the low-fat, low-butter brand and you’ll have yourself a little treat!

6. Larabars: Protein bars are a good snack and will give you energy, but tend to have a lot of calories and sugar. Larabars are made without added sugar, gluten or dairy – and most are made without soy (with the exception of the chocolate varieties). There are many different kinds and they all will satisfy that sweet tooth!

7. Nuts and trail mix: This is a great, high protein snack. Try to avoid buying trail mix with chocolate and candy, or nuts that are salted; however, if you don’t like the taste, there are flavored ones that are still pretty healthy as a small snack.
